FAQ

Where are you located?
I am located in Boca Raton, Florida. However, I offer my services virtually, so we’ll meet online wherever you are around the world.
What is your rate?

Investment price is discussed during the time of our discovery session call.

Do you accept insurance?

I am considered an “out-of-network” provider and do not directly accept insurance.

This is for various reasons, such as protecting your privacy and confidentiality, freedom from declaring a mental health diagnosis, and ease of scheduling.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your session time is reserved for you. If you cannot make your session, please let me know at least 48 hours in advance.

You’ll be charged a full fee for a late cancellation or no-show. The only time we waive this fee is in the event of a serious illness or family emergency.

How do I set up an initial session?

Feel free to email me at Dani@DaniLaBarrie.com or schedule a discovery session here: https://calendly.com/danilabarrie

I provide a complimentary 15- to 30-minute video chat. If we feel that we’re a good fit, we can set up our first session.

Who will know what we talk about?
One of the most important parts of therapy is confidentiality. No one will know what we discuss (except for a few safety exceptions).
With whom do you work?

I work with individuals, men, women, and groups. I primarily work with adults, but I also work with teens.

Check this website from time to time to see what group therapy topics are offered and when.

What is psychotherapy? How is it different from psychiatry?

Psychotherapy is “talk therapy.” You meet with a therapist and explore breakdowns and challenges… as well as learn new ways to manage emotions.

Psychiatry is practiced by a licensed physician and typically involves an evaluation to determine whether medication is warranted. Referrals for a psychiatric evaluation (medication) are made when necessary.

What can I expect in the first session?
I’ll ask that you complete a list of clarity questions to bring to our first session. These questions go into detail about where you’d like your life to be. In our first session, we will go over this list. By answering these questions, we’ll develop a solution-focused plan to get you where you’d like to be.
Do your clients receive assignments to work on between sessions?
Yes, you’ll receive practical, effective suggestions/recommendations tailored specifically to your challenges and the changes you’re looking for.
What modalities do you use in your client work?
I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), solution-focused modalities, holistic and psychospiritual approaches, and outcomes-oriented processes.
Are you spiritual? Do you work with people who are not spiritual?

Yes, I am spiritual. And, yes, I work with people of every faith and tradition… as well as with those with no faith tradition at all.

I believe my purpose is to help others who would benefit from the way I break things down, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey.

Dogs or cats? Coffee or tea? Indoors or outdoors?

I’m allergic to coffee and have grown a LOVE for tea.

And I love the outdoors. I’m down for any opportunity to be outside!
